ArcGIS License Updated Information

According to Esri K12 Michigan Education Manager, Here is the new information for K12 License:

"Dear students and teachers,

If you have (or have had) ArcGIS Desktop software for K12 instruction provided through a state-wide license agreement, this note about Esri's licensing for K12 instruction may affect you. If you have Esri software through the ConnectED program, watch for a separate email from the Esri Schools Team with more information.

We are pleased to introduce a new product for instruction in K12 schools and youth clubs that is now available for free, with a license extending to July 31, 2020. The “ArcGIS for Schools Bundle” includes the tools most useful for K12 instruction and student learning, and consists of:

If you have Esri software for K12 instruction through an Esri statewide license agreement, the licenses will expire at the end of this month (July 31, 2017). Here’s what you need to know:

  • If the only Esri software you received through an Esri statewide license agreement was ArcGIS Desktop, you will need to complete our simple online request form to get new licenses.
  • If you have an ArcGIS Online organization through an Esri statewide license agreement, your license will be renewed automatically (you don’t need to do anything).

In both cases, you will receive the new ArcGIS for Schools Bundle described above.

In addition, any K12 school or formal youth club that does not currently have Esri software can request our new ArcGIS for Schools Bundle for free via the same request form. (Feel free to share this news with any educators who may be interested!)

Please take a look at your account, and watch for emails from Esri. (Please check spam folders as well, as emails sometimes get caught.) If you encounter issues with your account, please email "k12schools@esri.com".

Thank you for helping students and educators engage GIS and learn The Science of Where."
